Tugas Mata Kuliah Menulis - Story

 The Dragon's Redemption

Once upon a time, there was a man strong enough to be feared by others and became a legend known as "The Dragon Who Killed His Master". A lot of people tried to stop him and wanted to prove that he's not the strongest, but he still holds up, no matter the quality nor the quantity of the people who challenged him.

One day, when he almost lost the will to fight, he met a little girl who was trying to save her family. She said that she got separated from them because her mother told her to run away when their household got caught up in a bandit raid. In dire need of action to redeem everything that he's ever done, the man agreed to help the little girl.

A few moments later, they reached the girl's family household. The man already knew from the start that the situation was bad already, so he told the girl to stay put and look out for bandits in case they attempted another raid, which is actually a lie to keep her innocence if the worst case scenario did happen.

As he was closing in, his senses were enhanced. Scent of blood is getting strong at every step, red silhouette painted the window, dim lights from candles forming three blurry shadows of men with swords on their back. Without any hesitation, he took the lives of the remaining bandits within two blinks of an eye after he opened the door.

His guess was true. He saw a dead couple, slaughtered, hugged till their souls left their bodies. It's not the gruesome fate that made the man went speechless, but the fate of the little girl. He knows really well that he's done a lot of bad things, but telling a child that her parents are already dead isn't one of them.

He left the house, walked towards the girl who stayed outside, then he lied. He told her that her parents were not in the house, and maybe they were somewhere safe. Not long after, the man offered the girl to look for her parents together, and the girl happily responds with a nod.

Their adventure starts. The hope of the girl never dies, and the redemption of the man has just begun, marking the change of "The Dragon Who Killed His Master" to become "The Dragon Who Protects".
